Flowers are very close to kin S. mandraliscae/S. repens, narrow upright terminal clusters of rayless white flowers reaching above the foliage in winter. The strongly vertical/architectural profile makes this a natural for containers, or in the garden against any type of background. Plus it's easy to grow, neat, drought tolerant, has mesmerizing leaf color, was described by the mighty but weird Linnaeus himself - what else do you want?? One of the best!
